I loooove filming bands and working with musicians! That simple. So when Tifah Phillips reached out to see if I could shoot & edit a few music videos The Autumn Film wanted to produce, I of course said please! Back in December we spent one day and filmed all three Coldplay songs. It’s a fun & successful shoot when you get to listen to beautiful music and be surround by such talented people the entire day!
I’ll admit it, I love Valentine’s Day! My Mom, Brian and I put together this super short stop motion video. Liam was a huge help too of course, our dog Owen was not. We really didn’t have much time but at least put this video together wishing you a happy day full of love.
Here’s a video of our friends singing various love songs for The Window Seat (during Super Bowl of course). Happy Valentine’s Day, one of my favorite holidays!

If you haven’t had a chance yet, please check out a new music web series I’m making with Christy Kruzick, The Window Seat. This episode we meet up with the lovely Mates of State at The Bluebird Theatre in Denver. The show has all sorts of video segments ranging from meeting bands, Dance Cards, Secret Ingredients and more. You can subscribe here.
Today we had another shoot for The Window Seat, a new music web series I’m making with Christy Lee. I had just written about The Window Seat in a previous post. I just have to say every time I’m with Christy I feel so inspired. Her brain is like an endless marathon of ideas. I’m so excited for The Window Seat and love learning about new music out there. Here is an episode on The Submarines. We shot this a few months ago while I was still pregnant as you probably can tell. Please subscribe to The Window Seat to get all sorts of updates.
Find the little things that make you smile and do them as much as possible. For me it’s filming Dance Cards for The Window Seat. Christy Lee is an amazingly awesome dancer. Yes, amazingly awesome. Check out the Dance Card below, Rubble Bucket. Christy and I are continually creating and adding content to our happy new project, The Window Seat. If you like it you can subscribe and follow The Window Seat on twitter. Join the music party.
Here is a Dance Card Christy posted today, The Vaccines.
A few months ago Jason Mendelson from Foundry Group asked if I would be interested in shooting a music video for him. Obviously I jumped at the opportunity to film four VC’s dancing in fountains, showers, & alleys in Boulder. Jason produced, wrote, & directed the music video above, “I’m a VC”. He had this vision to make a hilariously awesome music video inspired by Andy Samberg & Justin Timberlake’s Digital Shorts on SNL. Who doesn’t love Dick in a Box?! I have to admit that I was impressed with Seth’s goatee, which you will see he shaved off in the credits, and the dancing skills of all the guys from Foundry Group. I shot the video with my good friend, super talented Gene Park (a.k.a GP the DP), and edited the video. You can read Jason’s lyrics to “I’m a VC” here. Jason and his partner at Foundry Group, Brad Feld, wrote the book Venture Deals.
I just went through a lot of the production photos my husband, Brian Sweeney, took last night and it not only brought back some pretty kickass memories from the shoot but also reminded me of being pregnant. Just so you know, a week later I had the baby… Liam Sweeney, who now dances to the song I’m a VC.
Towards the end of last year, Christy Lee Kruzick asked if I would be interested in making a music web series together. I said “Yes!”. We got together, filmed a lot, laughed, ate blueberry pies, sketched, met bands and are super thrilled to bring you The Window Seat. It’s basically a dance party of astronomical proportions. There are all sorts of video segments from the main Band Episodes, Secret Ingredients, Dance Cards & more segments to come. Please subscribe here if you would like to join the music party and follow The Window Seat updates here. Thank you so much to Brian Sweeney & Danny Newman, our unconditional support and best friends.
I absolutely love the band Rosie & Me and am truly honored to be able to feature their music! Rosie and Me is charming and addictive. The five-piece Brazilian band, released “Bird and Whale” in 2010, after their first homemade songs gained popularity on the web. They’re mentioned in more than 80 music blogs worldwide and gained dedicated listeners in several countries, which lead to an invitation to perform at 2011 SXSW and NXNE (Canada). The band draws from their culture to enhance the American folk influence, which makes their sound a little more unique. I love them and look forward to hearing their new music. You can follow Rosie and Me’s updates on twitter.
Rosie and Me includes Rosanne Machado (vocals/acoustic guitars/banjo), Ivan Camargo (acoustic guitars), Thomas Kossar (electric guitars), Guilherme Miranda (bass guitars) and Tiago Barbosa (drums/perc).
