Alright, here is the most recent demo reel I’ve made featuring work I’ve shot & edited. Footage is comprised of the shows listed below. I like keeping themes in the videos I make, especially my demos. I’m super lucky to have awesome friends and people I work with, thank you for your support & letting me film you! I’d also like to thank my assistant editor, Liam. You can see in the photo he’s reviewing the video. Hope you enjoy it! The Founders The Window Seat Apres Adventure The Story of Foodzie
Plus more..
In effort to take more photos, make more random videos and just explore, I’m letting my son lead the way. We went to the Denver Museum of Nature & Science, met some mountain goats, a moose and took a trip to Mars. Conversations included, Polar Bear “Actually I’m not pooping.” Walrus #1 “Hello.” Walrus #2 “Hi.” plus more.
In all of the chaos of life I definitely recommend taking a break and letting your little explorer take you on an adventure. Your turn!
Well in small news, I changed my website from meganleighsweeney.com to HiMegan.com. With that comes minor problems so if you notice anything please let me know. We’re working on updating & getting out all of the glitches. Thank you so very much to my husband, Brian, for being my official tech guy and transferring my sites. You can subscribe via E-mail here. The logo in the video was designed by the extremely talented Anthony Dimitre. I’m super excited for a new year with many random new adventures to document.
P.S. the shots below were filmed in San Francisco, New York, France & Colorado.
With the New Year comes everyone’s resolutions. People post them, share them, try to keep them but how many new years goals are kept? According to these statistics: 40 to 45% of American adults make one or more resolutions each year. After one month 64% of the resolutions are kept.
I saw this photo posted in Rick Mereki‘s blog. Without deviation from the norm, progress is not possible – Frank Zappa. Love the message. So for 2012 I will keep all of my (unwritten) new year’s resolutions & take some risks. I’m imagining all of this in voice over and a musical montage with lots of color, black & white, laughter, action, dancing so please use your imagination because I have run out of time. Do something you love. It’s about the journey, not the destination. Time to really prioritize. Learn about new music. Smile. Laugh. Think creatively. Let’s be adventurous. Saying see ya later to my old demo reel (below) and hello to a new year of wild randomness, documented.
Here are two new episodes of the show Ryan Ross and I are making for Snow.com, Apres Adventures. Due to falling and breaking my foot I couldn’t shoot either show. Instead my extremely modest & talented husband, Brian Sweeney, shot both shows and I edited them. It looks like Brian & Ryan had a few adventures in Breckenridge and Vail. Too bad I missed both snowy cold nights.
I hope you enjoy these episodes and are inspired to partake in your own apres adventures at Vail Resorts. The logo above is designed by Chase Courington.
I was not planning on making this video, it was more of an idea that grew after Liam was born. I started to think about all of the places Liam had traveled to, Mexico, Philly etc. and all of the things he had done before he was even born.
Brian and I took weekly photos to eventually make a stop motion of my belly. It’s kind of embarrassing, my obsession with filming things but it makes me feel better to think of what Brad Feld said, “Be obsessed with the thing you are doing”. So on that note, I definitely encourage you all to at least film a few everyday things here and there. One of my regrets is not getting more footage of my Grandma before she got sick but having what I have of her, I love!
Since the idea to make this video didn’t come until recently, I tried to include everyone as much as possible. Please don’t be offended if you’re not in the video a lot. With that said, I hope you’re not in the video if you didn’t want to be.
Thanks to everyone who took photos & video especially Brian, Elissa, Gene, & Ryan for capturing some of those moments! Also a huge thank you to Henri, Liam’s Uncle-in-law, who is not only a good role model but the voice of Liam in this video.
Let’s be adventurous together because it’s just the beginning!
This months Snow.com’s Apres Adventures, Ryan and I went ziplining at Zip Adventures in Vail, perfect timing for the fall colors. It’s always fun to work with Ryan, we tend to find ourselves in unique situations. The music featured in this episode includes: Rosie & Me, The Autumn Film, Harper Blynn & Ben Suchy. Please help support these kickass bands, buy a CD & tell them how much you love them. Hope you enjoy!
I’ve posted this video already over a year ago but a friend just reminded me of it so I thought I would throw it out there again. Every time I see the photos and footage from California it makes me extremely nostalgic. What a great time in life, college days, living in L.A., when I first met Brian, sunshine, the beach, making movies …
The great thing is there are some new fun days coming up and I see this as a reminder to embrace the present. I propose taking a camera and shooting some photos and/or video of anything this weekend. Pick a random activity and just film it. I’d love to see what you come up with! Feel free and post links below.
My Grandpa, Stanley Bernstein, said “We come into this Earth crying and everyone else is smiling, when we leave this Earth we should leave with a smile and everyone else is crying”. California
Brian and I were lucky enough to be invited down to Isla Mujeres, Mexico and film Brett & Deanna’s wedding adventures. We explored the island on a golf cart/moped, swam with fish, ate lots of guacamole, and watched Brett & Deanna get married on a beautiful beach at sunset. There will be lots more videos and photos to come so keep checking back. Below is a short dance video featuring the charming Brett & Deanna.
I’m really in the mood for a mini adventure. This is a short video I made a long time ago and includes random moments I filmed from Costa Rica, Hawaii, to road trips in the west. Thought I would post it for fun. This weekend is a good time for a new adventure!
